Offaly's Annual Youth Conference - Calling all young aged 12 - 17 in Offaly
Offaly Comhairle na nOg is pleased to announce that their Youth Conference will take place on 8th of October 2024 in Mucklagh Community Centre, Offaly.
Comhairle na nOg provides a forum for young people aged 12 - 17 to identify and work on issues of importance to them before working with key local decisions - makers in a bid to achieve their desired outcome, impact or change.. The Comhairle na nOg Youth Conference is one of the first steps in that process, bringing together Youth People from throughout the country to identify and prioritise these topics of importance. Following the Youth Conference, all attendees will be invited to participate in a Local Comhairle na nOg which will focus on issues that are relevant to people from their local area. The first Offaly Comhairle Member's Local meeting will take place in November in Tullamore.
This year's event is designed to support the selection of a new topic for the Comhairle na nOg members to work on for 2025. At the Youth Conference Young People will be given the opportunity to take part in workshops that allow them to explore this topic further but to also raise other issues that are of concern to them. The Youth Conference will also feature guest speakers on the chosen topic. light entertainment and lunch will be included as we hope to ensure that the day is fun for all involved.
