The Board of Offaly Local Development Company (OLDC) are saying goodbye to their CEO Brendan O’Loughlin who has been at the helm of local development in County Offaly for the past 30 years. Brendan, originally from Mayo, moved to Offaly in 1990 and has been involved in many exciting projects with communities and businesses throughout the county in the intervening period. Tom Finnerty, Chair of OLDC, thanked Brendan for his enormous contribution and commitment to his work in OLDC. ‘His management style and commitment to cultivating a strong team has helped greatly to grow OLDC into one of the most efficient and effective local development companies in the country’.

Tom also confirmed the appointment of Roisin Lennon as the new CEO for the company. Roisin will be well-known to the communities of Offaly already as she has led the Rural Development section of OLDC for a number of years. She has been involved closely in the preparation of the recent 5-year company strategic plan, LEADER local development strategy and the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme tender. Through her experience Roisin brings a wealth of knowledge that will be incredibly beneficial as she takes on this new leadership role.

Tom stated that the Board of OLDC welcomed the appointment of Roisin and look forward to working with her in the coming years as the company continues its great work.
